Capture the right view

# Capture a long page from top to bottom

Full-page capture scrolls through the main page and combines the captured views. It is useful for long articles, reports and layouts that need more than one screen.

## Know which surface is being captured

A web page can contain the main document, internal scrolling panels and embedded frames. A full-page capture follows the main page. An internal panel contributes the content that is visible inside it; this does not promise an independent capture of every item in the panel.

Expanding sections and infinite feeds can change the page while it is being captured. Decide which content you need and make it visible beforehand where possible.

## Run a stable full-page capture

1. Prepare the page, including expandable content you want in the image.
2. Choose Full page in the popup and keep the same tab active.
3. Leave zoom, window size and navigation unchanged until processing completes.
4. Review section joins, repeated headers and the bottom of the page before downloading.

## Check completeness rather than only length

The extension waits for visible loading and stitches frames at their real offsets. Fixed or sticky overlays may be hidden after their first appearance to avoid repetition. Changing pages can still create incomplete or inconsistent views.

Read warnings and inspect missing images or blank areas. A very tall image is not proof that every hidden or protected element was captured. For an endless feed, prefer a smaller visible-area capture or several deliberate sections.

## A worked example

A long product page contains a sticky navigation bar, a reviews panel and images that load on scroll. Full-page capture follows the main document. Prepare the reviews you need and wait for images before starting. In the viewer, inspect the top, two middle joins and the footer rather than assuming image length establishes completeness. If reviews are inside a separate scrolling panel, the main-page image does not promise every review. Preserve a smaller reviewed section if the entire changing page is unreliable.

Add your observations. This template processes no files and sends no report.

### Check the result

### If something is wrong

**Observation and next step**

| Observation | Next step |
| --- | --- |
| Repeated navigation | Check Freeze repeating elements and review the first appearance plus later joins. |
| Inner panel is incomplete | Capture the relevant visible state separately; main-page scrolling does not scroll every panel. |
| Footer is missing | Inspect partial warnings and page growth; use a bounded scope instead of assuming the capture is complete. |

## Common questions

**Does full-page capture include every scrollable box?**

Separate scrolling panels include their visible content. The main-page workflow does not promise to scroll through each panel independently.

**Why did the capture stop before the page ended?**

Large or changing pages can hit capture limits. The viewer identifies capped or incomplete results as partial; review the warning and choose a smaller scope.

Review the actual saved file before sharing. Local history can retain the original capture separately from an edited or redacted export.
