Capture the right view

# Your first capture with FullPageShot

Start with a normal web page and a clear purpose. Free captures, basic annotations, image downloads and local history do not require an account.

## Prepare the page you want to capture

Open the page in your Chromium browser and let its important content appear. Close menus or private overlays that should not be in the screenshot. The extension captures the page view you provide; it cannot bypass a login or a browser restriction.

The Chrome Web Store listing is still being prepared. This website will link to the verified listing when released. If you already use the local extension, pin its icon so the capture controls are easy to reach.

## Capture and review in four steps

1. Open FullPageShot and choose Full page, Visible area or the crop entry point for your purpose.
2. Keep the captured tab active. Do not navigate, resize or change zoom while the capture runs.
3. Watch the progress indicator. Use its cancel control or Esc if you need to stop.
4. Review the viewer, any loading warnings and the first and last sections. Save a separate file when satisfied.

## Make a useful result, then keep it

Use basic text, arrows and shapes to explain what matters. Your original capture remains in local history, while edits apply to exports. Download important results rather than treating the history as a permanent archive.

Account pages belong to optional Pro features. Opening an account page does not improve a failed capture and does not make a purchase. Pro checkout remains disabled.

## A worked example

You need to show a colleague a misplaced button. A full-page image is possible, but a visible-area capture with enough surrounding context is easier to read. Open the page, close unrelated overlays, capture, then add one arrow and a short label. Download the result and open the saved file before sharing. The original remains separately in local history; the export is the file your colleague receives. Neither the capture nor this guide sends it to anyone.

Add your observations. This template processes no files and sends no report.

### Check the result

### If something is wrong

**Observation and next step**

| Observation | Next step |
| --- | --- |
| Blank result | Check the original page, active tab and browser restriction. Retry a normal page with a smaller scope. |
| Result is too large | Use a visible-area capture or a deliberate crop with enough context. |
| File is not where expected | Check browser downloads and open the actual saved file instead of relying on the preview. |

## Common questions

**Do I need an account for a screenshot?**

No. Free capture, basic editing, image downloads and local history work without signing in.

**Can I capture internal browser pages?**

Browser and store pages restrict extension injection. Use a normal web page; the extension cannot remove those browser restrictions.

Review the actual saved file before sharing. Local history can retain the original capture separately from an edited or redacted export.
