# Prepare a PDF or presentation image

A long capture can be easier to share as pages or as a framed image. PDF export and presentation frames are protected Pro tools; Pro checkout remains disabled.

## An image-based PDF, with deliberate pages

PDF export offers A4 or US Letter and page numbers. The capture and its edits become image content in the PDF. It is not a searchable text document and does not reconstruct headings, links or selectable website text.

Pagination favours quiet image rows to avoid awkward breaks, but continuous content can still cross a page boundary. Review every page, especially tables, screenshots with labels and the final sheet.

## Prepare and review a PDF

1. Finish annotations and any necessary solid redaction in the viewer.
2. Open the Pro export controls when verified access is available and choose the paper size.
3. Create the PDF and open the saved file in a PDF viewer.
4. Check page breaks, readability, numbering and the final page before sharing or printing.

## Choose a frame for the context

Presentation frames offer Warm Paper, Deep Ink and Soft Sage. A frame helps present the capture, but does not add missing content or make a low-resolution image sharper. Choose whether the source hostname should appear.

The frame does not embed the full URL or a hidden original. Review any visible hostname and the capture itself for private information. Keep a separate copy of the original if you need it for your own records.

## A worked example

You need a reviewed screenshot in a meeting handout. With existing Pro access, choose a PDF page size and inspect each page split before sharing. The PDF contains screenshot imagery rather than searchable document text. A presentation frame can add context but does not establish capture date or completeness as independent evidence. If source website information is included, check whether that is appropriate for the audience. Always open the exported PDF or image, not just the Studio preview.

Add your observations. This template processes no files and sends no report.

### Check the result

### If something is wrong

**Observation and next step**

| Observation | Next step |
| --- | --- |
| Text not searchable | Screenshot PDFs are image-based; use the original page/document when searchable text is needed. |
| Split separates related details | Review another page size or a smaller capture before export. |
| Studio locked | Pro tools require entitlement and checkout remains disabled; free image export is available. |

## Common questions

**Can I search or select website text in this PDF?**

The PDF is image-based. It does not add searchable text or a structured copy of the webpage.

**Will page breaks always avoid every table row?**

No. Pagination seeks quieter rows, but continuous image content can cross a page boundary. Check the actual exported pages.

Review the actual saved file before sharing. Local history can retain the original capture separately from an edited or redacted export.
