# Cover private details before sharing

Solid redaction covers selected regions with opaque pixels in the exported result. It is a protected Pro feature; checkout remains disabled while release checks are outstanding.

## Identify every detail that needs covering

Inspect names, email addresses, account references, addresses and visible private messages. Check repeated appearances such as a header and a table row. Redaction is manual; the extension does not promise to detect every sensitive detail for you.

Use the solid redaction tool, rather than relying on a decorative shape or an unfinished editing layer. Its covered regions are baked into PNG, clipboard, framed images and PDF exports.

## Cover, export and inspect

1. Open the capture and choose solid redaction when verified Pro access is available.
2. Cover the whole sensitive region, including nearby labels that identify it.
3. Export the intended result and open that actual file separately.
4. Inspect every covered region and the rest of the image before sharing. Do not share the original by mistake.

## The original still exists locally

The unredacted original remains in local history. The feature changes the exported result, not every copy on your computer. Decide whether to keep or deliberately delete the original history entry after saving and checking the safe output.

Presentation frames can show the source hostname when selected. Consider whether even that hostname identifies a private service. A redacted image should still be reviewed as a whole, not only where boxes were drawn.

## A worked example

A screenshot includes an email address, account number and private values inside a chart tooltip. Identify every region before exporting. With an existing Pro entitlement, solid redaction is flattened into exports. Inspect the saved file for complete coverage, including characters at the edges and information repeated elsewhere. The unredacted original remains in local history. Hiding one address in the export does not remove it from the original or from another downloaded copy.

## Common questions

**Can a recipient remove a redaction box from the exported pixels?**

The solid region is baked into the export. Still inspect the actual file and ensure it is the redacted output, not an original or a different saved copy.

**Can I buy Pro now to use redaction?**

Pro checkout is currently disabled. The account page shows the prepared account workflow; this guide does not promise that sales are open.

Review the actual saved file before sharing. Local history can retain the original capture separately from an edited or redacted export.
