Capture the right view

Keep a clear record of an order confirmation

A screenshot can keep the visible confirmation state. Preserve the provider’s original receipt or downloadable document when available.

Load the confirmation you need

Check that the page shows the correct order, date, items and totals. Wait for all relevant sections and close unrelated overlays. A capture does not bypass login and does not verify that an order or payment is settled.

Order pages often include names, addresses, reference numbers and payment-related details. Decide whether the file is for your own archive or for sharing. Those purposes need different privacy review.

Capture and verify the visible record

  1. Load the correct order confirmation using your own access.
  2. Choose full page for a finite confirmation or visible area for a specific detail.
  3. Check the first and last sections, total and reference against the page.
  4. Download to an organised folder and retain the official document separately.

Review before sending a copy

For support, share only the information actually needed. A cropped image and its local original are separate items. Optional Pro redaction requires entitlement and checkout remains disabled. Choose a non-sensitive capture scope or another suitable permitted workflow when needed.

Choose the next step from the actual result

Check whether the page is a confirmation, pending order or receipt. Those labels have different meanings and must remain in the capture. Do not annotate a pending state as completed. If the service updates the page later, the earlier screenshot still records an earlier visible state. Keep the date and original provider document where relevant, and explain that distinction when using the image in a support discussion.

For a private archive, choose a folder you can find and save the image outside local extension history. For sharing, prepare a separate limited or appropriately redacted version. Open that exact copy and review every corner, including repeated addresses, item notes and source badges. The file name alone does not establish that the image is safe to share. Retain only the copies you actually need.

A worked example

You want to show support that an item description differs from what was ordered. Capture the item line and order reference with enough context, rather than the entire address and payment section. Keep the full confirmation privately for your own records and retain the original receipt download if the provider offers one.

Add your observations. This template processes no files and sends no report.

Page no longer availableUse an existing legitimate receipt or provider document; capture does not restore inaccessible content.
Only some items capturedExpand the needed section or choose a finite full-page scope and review it.
Private details unnecessarily includedUse a smaller reviewed scope or an appropriate permitted redaction workflow.

Common questions

Does a screenshot verify payment?

No. It records visible information; the provider’s actual status and original documents remain separate evidence.

Should I keep the official receipt?

Yes, when available and needed for your records. The screenshot workflow does not replace original provider files.
