Capture the right view

Capture a useful section of an infinite feed

An infinite feed has no reliable final page. Define the section you need before expecting a complete screenshot.

Define a meaningful endpoint

Use a visible article, a dated range or a specific set of loaded items as your scope. Loading more items changes the document height, so “capture everything” may not describe a finite task. A long image can still omit later items.

The engine and warm-up pass are bounded. Frame, dimension, time and memory limits can produce a partial result. The viewer exposes capture warnings; treat them as information about scope, not merely cosmetic notices.

Prefer a stable, limited capture

  1. Load the particular items you need.
  2. Record the first and last item identifiers or headings.
  3. Use visible-area or separate deliberate sections when the feed keeps growing.
  4. Inspect partial warnings and label the saved file by its actual range.

Keep enough overlap for context

When taking several sections manually, retain a recognisable heading or item in the overlap. This helps readers understand order. FullPageShot does not turn this workflow into an automatic exhaustive feed archive or a batch crawler. Review each section yourself.

Choose the next step from the actual result

Decide what a reader needs to learn from the feed. A specific announcement or item range is easier to verify than a very tall image. Before capturing, note the endpoint in your own brief. If the feed reorders items or adds new ones during capture, inspect the recorded order rather than assuming it matches the earlier view. A length or frame count cannot establish that every relevant item is present.

For a series of deliberate sections, review each image before moving on. Keep a recognisable overlap and a sequence in your file names. Save important sections outside the recent history collection before making many more captures. If you need the underlying dataset or a complete archive, use an authorised export offered by the source service rather than describing this screenshot workflow as exhaustive.

A worked example

You need five recent release notes from a feed that appends older notes on scroll. Open those five notes and identify their headings. Capture reviewed sections with enough overlap. A capped full-page image that includes many more items is harder to audit and still does not prove the entire feed was captured.

Add your observations. This template processes no files and sends no report.

Common questions

Can the warm-up load an endless feed completely?

No. It is bounded and can flag unresolved content.

Does Pro remove capture limits?

Pro finishing tools do not promise unlimited browser capture.
